Simple Trick to Creating an E-book Fast

As a business owner, you have lots of knowledge and experience that could help others. That is probably why you started your business in the first place. An e-book is a great way to reach a new audience and new customers, but for many of us creating an e-book sounds complicated.

Here are a few tips to make creating an e-book simple and fast!

All successful people agree, the way to efficient and effective progress is to leverage our strengths. As humans, most of us are more practiced and more efficient at communicating verbally. So, why not use this talent you have cultivated your whole life to your advantage?

#3 Stop Typing & Talk It OutMicrophone icon

Use a voice recorder and just talk out your e-book content.  If you have a smartphone, you have a voice recorder within arm’s reach most of the time. Yes, the final version of your e-book needs to be in written format but that doesn’t mean you have to start that way.

Bonus Tip: Long car trips are a great opportunity to “write” your e-book! Just get a hands-free headset (bluetooth or wired) and record your e-book while you drive. No more feeling unproductive while driving to your next conference.

Use dictation software to convert your speech into written text. You can either use the voice recording or speak directly into the dictation software. Keep in mind that speech-to-text software is not perfect and you will need to make some edits no matter which software you choose.

Bonus Tip: If you used a voice recorder, get a audio cable to connect your voice recorder (phone) headphone jack to your computer’s microphone input jack so the speech-to-text software can “hear” it clearly. You will need a 3.5 mm to 3.5 mm audio cable. These are easy to find and inexpensive.

If you want to play around with speech-to-text software, here is a free website where you can convert your speech-to-text and then copy and paste it wherever you need it…

If you don’t want to deal with dictation software yourself, pay someone to do it for you. Using sites like Fiverr.com, you can quickly find someone to take your audio voice recording and convert it to text for a really reasonable rate.

Bonus Tip: I would recommend still reviewing the work to check for errors, because I am sure most of them are using speech-to-text software.
